Apparently I am turning into a Bear

Yea so apparently I am turning into a bear getting ready to go into hibernation! No matter how much I eat I am not getting full but that has mostly been this week.  The week of the race went pretty well.  It  is so crazy!  The temperatures have gotten cooler so I think my body is going into winter mode.  Trying to store up fat or something.  I have no clue.

Anyways I ran the race in 38 minutes and 41 seconds.  We had a great time!  I have a great story to share about the race which you will find below ...

Seeing as most of you know me then you know how much I love hockey!  I am a huge Penguins fan but I also support the Hurricanes for a few reasons.  First because they are our home state team and second because if they go away then we don't have anywhere close to go see the Penguins play.  So when I found out that I could combine my love of Hockey, support a good cause (Kids-N-Community), and run my September 5K, I was super excited.  I registered right away and started planning with Chad about all the fun we were going to have.  The time until the race went by like lightening and to be prepared to leave at 6:15am Sunday for our almost 2 hour trek to the PNC Arena where the event was being held I worked Saturday night to lay out everything that I needed for the day.  At least I thought I had.
It was just as we were approaching the 40/85 split just east of Mebane that I realized I had gone off and left my Race Bib with my timer in it at the house.  I was distraught to say the least!  I was already upset and then came the completely stopped traffic due to construction.  We decided that we were still going to go because they were going to have bounce houses and fun stuff for the kids.  We got around the traffic and ended up arriving around 8:30.  Opening ceremonies were going to start at 8:45 so I had very little time to ask them if they could give me a new bib since I left mine and get ready for the run.  I really didn't want to miss the opening ceremonies because they were going to have members of the Canes on hand.  They were very understanding and gave me a new bib.  I went from #368 to #580. I took off to the restroom to get my bib pinned on.  Here is where it gets good! In my hurry to get back to Chad and the girls and not miss the opening ceremonies I accidentally took the wrong door to get back outside. I didn't really think about it that much because I was focused on getting outside so I could see them introduce the Hurricanes that were going to be there for the day.  Everyone was wearing the grey t-shirts from the race but they were all standing around in the hallway so it was pretty packed.  So I proceeded to bust my way through saying sorry, pardon, and excuse me (I do have manners). I was about 1/2 way through this group of guys when I heard what was clearly a conversation being had in what I am pretty sure was Russian.  That's when I slowed my roll and looked around to see that I just busted right up in the middle of all of the Carolina Hurricanes Players (later I would find out that 30 had showed up) that were waiting to go out on to the stage outside.  I just kept on going trying not to let on that I realized what I had just done.  I got outside and I told Chad who was like really why didn't you say hey or something.  They say hind sight is 20/20 and looking back I probably could have said "Oh I am so sorry I went the wrong way" and met some of them but I didn't and I can't change that now.  So that is my interesting story for today!  ... Probably most interesting to me but I had to share!

As far as food and weight loss goes I am going to start back this week on working out and trying to follow my weight watchers.  I need to lose the 5 lbs that I have gained back plus the rest of the weight I wanted to lose to start with.  I need help finding my motivation to get to my goal.  I am losing my motivation so fast.

And yes Nicole we do need to put some 5K pictures on here!  :)  I will get to work on that ASAP!

Here is to a good week!  Nicole you can do it and so can I!  We just have to be here for each other!
